An idea worth considering

I am considering publishing a website "directory" featuring talented journalists: photographers, designers, writers, editors, etc., with the goal of them earning money through improving the content on existing websites. Any thoughts?

Mountain Grove Cemetery Association

I am happy to report that my kindly, thoughtful neighbor has hired me to design the website for Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, where my maternal grandmother, grandfather, great-grandmother and great-grandfather are buried.

I took pictures one morning while there in late June.

This is still a work in progress.

Photography website

I just finished my friend Bob's website. An excellent, freelance photographer, he hired me to do his photo portfolio website and it went through various forms but is now, finally, finished. I welcome feedback.

Portfolio

I have been noticing websites more critically now. Instead of just looking for what I want to find at a particular website, I now notice things like: navigation, colors, placement of elements within white space if there's any. It used to be that websites fell into two categories for me: well-designed and poorly-designed. Now I see there are many flavors of website, varying from very, very bad to very, very good, with myriad steps in between.

Also, in crafting my online portfolio, I find that the internet "face" I want to put out there is more important than the clothing and accessories I might choose to wear, and the prepared answers for anticipated quesions I might be asked on an interview.

Bad Web Design

I will probably not be able to make class tonight, so, here's my contribution for a bad web design. It's not really, really bad, just unpolished. And it's for a very nice couple of businessmen so I am thinking I will redesign this website for them as one of my class projects.

Check out www.ambuildingremodeling.com.

I am thinking new home page design, better photo layout, new portrait of the workers, and a bonafide customer review from a real customer (me).

AHHHH!

I find this terribly confusing. I'm lost in a blog maze...

The Gardening Angel

Today I did nothing in the garden.

Yesterday was a different story. It is bulk pickup week so pruning was in order. Opening the garage door I took a saw, a pruner, a small clippers and leather gloves. The leather gloves lay on the grass, unused, because I like to get my hands dirty. Crystal was there, "helping", as always.

Sawing away a diseased limb from a dogwood that has been on it's way out since we moved here 14 years ago, I felt strangely like a medicine woman administering a life-saving procedure. Pruning a crabapple that has branches growing "willy-nilly" was simply for aesthetics. Same with the Hemlocks.
